MISSION
The mission of RVA Hope Center is to transform hearts and lives through the love and power of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through consistent outreaches, mentorship, and other activities that focus on encountering Jesus, building relationships, meeting practical needs, and encouraging people to achieve their goals and dreams.
PURPOSE
-To bring glory to God and expand His Kingdom
-To love and serve the most at-risk, marginalized, and vulnerable, so that they can experience abundant life in Christ
-To accelerate the faith of our volunteers by encountering the Holy Spirit while on mission
-To activate and unify the body of Christ to transform Greater RVA
VISION
-Families walking in the promises and plans God has for them
-Safe communities thriving with the presence of the Holy Spirit
-Children, women, and men freed and healed from sex trafficking and exploitation
-Activated followers of Christ living out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission
-Churches and ministries flourishing as they humbly partner together to share the love of Jesus
OUR STORY
RVA Hope Center was started in 2020 by Aaron and Vangie Hendrickson, after years of serving at-risk communities in Richmond. God initially got a hold of their hearts for urban ministry when they led missions teams to New York City, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, and Miami. It was through these experiences that they learned many of the outreach strategies that serve as a foundation for this ministry. From the beginning, RVA Hope Center has been about encountering Jesus, loving people where they are, being consistent, building relationships, and discipleship of both volunteers and the people they serve.
